FIRST-SERVE
The Arkansas Tech volleyball team is back in action on Tuesday night and is set to play a road match against Henderson State on Halloween.
 
First-serve against Henderson State is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from inside the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia.
 
This will be the second regular season meeting of the year between the Golden Suns and Reddies. Henderson would come away with a win in the initial meeting, beating Tech 3-1 back on September 21 in Russellville.
TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns enters Tuesday night's GAC match at Henderson State 3-21 overall and 2-10 in the GAC. They are coming of a thrilling 3-2 reverse sweep of Southern Arkansas in their last match played last Thursday at home.
 
Offensively, the Golden Suns are averaging 10.9 kills/set and have a .139 team attack percentage. They have four players with at least 100 kills and are led by Kaitlyn Neal and her 193 kills. Jordan Clouse has the highest attack percentage on the team at .244 (68-kills, 197-attempts, 20-errors).
 
The Golden Suns' primary setter has been Gracie Palmer. Of the team's 865 assists registered thus far, Palmer has accounted for 455. True freshman Kenzie Garrett has also seen some consistent time as of late in the setter role and has totaled 246 assists this season.
 
Defensively the Golden Suns are averaging 13.9 digs/set and 1.4 blocks per set. Jamie Myrick leads the team in digs with 341. Lauren Grier currently leads the team in blocks with 58.0.
 
The head coach of the Golden Suns is Kera Coleman. She is in her sixth year as head coach of her alma mater and seventh overall. In her time at Tech, Coleman is 73-82. Overall, she's 92-94­.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Henderson State
Henderson State enters Tuesday night's conference match against Tech with a 16-9 overall record and a 7-5 mark in the GAC. The Reddies are coming off a loss in their most-recent match this past Thursday on the road at Harding. Henderson would lose that match in straight-sets, 3-0. Over their last four matches, the Reddies are 1-3 with all matches coming in GAC play.
 
Offensively, the Reddies are averaging 12.1 kills/set and have a .190 team attack percentage. They have six players with at least 100 kills and are led by Christiane Uzoh and her 242 kills. Uzoh also has the highest attack percentage among prominent attackers on the team at .239 (242-kills, 615-attacks, 95-errors).
 
The Reddies have split time at the setter position between Madison Hatt and Nathalie Van. The two have combined for 797 of the team's 997 assists this year. Hatt is leading the team with 454 assists while Shaver has contributed 343.
 
Defensively the Reddies are averaging 18.1 digs/set and 2.2 blocks per set. Trinity Sharp leads the team in digs with 401. At the net, Larkin Luke leads the team with 80.0 blocks.
 
The head coach of the Reddies is Philip McDaniel. He is in his seventh year as head coach at Henderson and his 14th overall. In his time at Henderson, McDaniel has a 116-75 record. Overall, his career head coaching record is 213-200.
