RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – With only a month left in the regular season each remaining weekend series takes on increased importance, especially considering that a mere three games in both the win and loss column separate the No. 2 team and the No. 9 team in the current Great American Conference standings heading into this weekend's action.

Arkansas Tech is currently in a tie for sixth place with Oklahoma Baptist. The Wonder Boys' opponent this weekend, Henderson State is currently tied for second place with Southeastern Oklahoma and Ouachita. There are just two games that separate Tech and Henderson State in the conference standings.

SCOUTING HENDERSON STATE
The Reddies enter play this weekend 23-10 overall and are 13-8 in the Great American Conference. They have won their last two games, both against then-ranked No. 8 Southern Arkansas. The first of those wins staved off a series sweep to SAU over last weekend with the most-recent one coming earlier this week in a non-conference mid-week contest.

Offensively, the Reddies are hitting .293 as a team (321-for-1,096) with 259 runs scored, 74 doubles, nine triples and 36 home runs. Entering the weekend, the Reddies have five players hitting .300 or better with
Dillon Thomas leading the way at .390 (23-for-59).

In terms of power numbers, the Reddies have 11 players with a home run and seven of those have multiple homers.
David Vilches leads the team in homers with 12.
Greyson Stevens is next with eight. Two others have three home runs as well.
Vilches and
Stevens are pacing the team in RBIs with 31 each. Two other Reddie hitters have at least 20 RBIs.

On the mound, the Reddies have a 4.35 team ERA and have struck out 248 batters in 277.1 innings of work.

This past weekend, the Reddies used a weekend rotation of
Spencer Taack,
Cade Tucker and
Ryan Galvan. Those three have combined to make 27 starts and are collectively 12-3 with 129 strikeouts in 144.0 innings of work. Taack paces the starters and is 6-1 with a 3.71 ERA. He has 47 strikeouts in 53.1 innings. Galvan is 3-0 with a 3.89 ERA and has 34 Ks in 41.2 innings. Tucker is 3-2 with a 5.14 ERA and has 48 strikeouts in 49.0 innings.

Outside of their latest weekend rotation, 12 different pitchers have been used by Henderson State. The most appearances made by a reliever is 12 and has been done by
Andrew Howard and
Brayden Bebee.
Howard is 2-3 with a 2.36 ERA and has 29 strikeouts in 26.2 innings.
Bebee is 2-1 with three saves and a 2.78 ERA. He has 28 strikeouts in 22.2 innings. Â As a team, Henderson State has notched six saves and outside of Bebee, there has been three different Reddies to register a save.

The Wonder Boys enter play against this weekend against Henderson State 18-13 overall and 11-10 in the Great American Conference. They are coming off a series win at home against Ouachita in which Tech won the first two games, but overall, Tech has dropped two-straight with a loss in the finale to Ouachita and a loss in mid-week action at Pitt State.

Will Horton have made up the weekend rotation thus far and are 11-7 combined with 142 strikeouts in 136.1 innings of work.
Miner paces the starters with a 6-1 record and a 3.28 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 57.2 innings.
Scott is 3-2 with a 5.71 ERA and has 38 strikeouts in 41.0 innings.
Horton is currently 2-4 with a 6.93 ERA and has 42 strikeouts in 37.2 innings of work.

Ty Van Meter accounting for four of the saves. He has appeared in nine games and currently has 21 strikeouts in 12.2 innings.
