RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech baseball team is set to carry a five-game winning streak on the road this weekend as they travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma for a three-game Great American Conference series against Oklahoma Baptist. The series is scheduled to start on Friday, March 25 with a single game starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the two teams will conclude the series with a doubleheader beginning at Noon.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
The Bison enter play this weekend 11-13 overall and 7-8 in the Great American Conference. Oklahoma Baptist is also carrying a three-game losing streak into the weekend as they were swept by Harding last weekend. Despite the sweep, all three games were close as the combined margin of defeat for the Bison was four runs.

Offensively, the Bison are hitting .307 as a team (258-for-841) with 221 runs scored, 57 doubles, six triples and 51 home runs. Entering the weekend, the Bison have four players hitting .300 or better with
Isiah Lissade leading the way at .364 (39-for-107).

In terms of power numbers, the Bison have 10 players with a home run and eight of those have multiple homers.
Dan Pruitt leads the team in homers with 12.
Alex Schroeder is next with 10. Two others have seven home runs as well. Schroeder and Pruitt are also pacing the team in RBIs with 34 and 32 RBIs, respectively. Three other Bison hitters have 20 or more RBIs.

On the mound, the Bison have a 6.51 team ERA and have struck out 238 batters in 197.2 innings of work.

This past weekend, the Bison used a weekend rotation of
Bo Dallas,
Will Duncan and
Brek Galbreath. Those three have combined to make 15 starts and are collectively 4-6 with 87 strikeouts in 77.1 innings of work. Â

Outside of that weekend rotation, nine different pitchers have been used by Oklahoma Baptist. Two of those pitchers have appeared in double-digit games with Garrett Kellogg-Clarke making the most appearances with 11, all in relief. Sam Gamboa is next in appearances with 10. Kellogg-Clarke is 1-1 with a 4.66 ERA. He also has both of the Bison saved on the year and has registered 27 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work. Gamboa is 2-2 with an 8.06 ERA and has 34 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.

TECH TIDBITS
The Wonder Boys enter play this weekend 15-8 overall and 9-6 in the GAC. They have won five games in a row and are coming off a big mid-week win at home against No. 16-ranked Henderson State, 12-6. Prior to that, the Wonder Boys had swept last weekend's series against Southern Nazarene and secured the series win over UAM with a win in the finale.

Offensively, the Wonder Boys enter play against Oklahoma Baptist hitting .309 as a team (231-for-748) with 167 runs scored, 41 doubles, four triples and 32 home runs. Individually, the Wonder Boys have five batters with at least 40 at-bats hitting .300 or better with two of those over .400. The two over the .400 mark are
Sam Stephenson and
Yadier Medina. Stephenson is currently hitting .475 (19-for-40) and Medina is at .425 (31-for-73).

Josh Detweiler's seven homers.
Shelby Quiggins is next with five.
Evan Hafley leads the team in RBIs with 22. Six other Wonder Boys have driven in at least 10 runs as well.

Patrick Miner,
Shane Scott and
Will Horton have made up the weekend rotation thus far and are 9-4 combined with 107 strikeouts in 100.0 innings of work. Miner paces the starters with a 5-0 record and a 3.73 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 41.0 innings. Scott is 3-1 with a 5.35 ERA and has 27 strikeouts in 33.2 innings. Horton is currently 1-3 with a 7.46 ERA and has 32 strikeouts in 25.1 innings of work.

In relief, the Wonder Boys have notched four saves with
Ty Van Meter accounting for three of the saves. He has appeared in seven games and currently has 15 strikeouts in 8.2 innings.
John Walsh and
Grant Shahan have been go-to relievers as well for the Wonder Boys. Walsh has made eight relief appearances and is 2-0 with a 3.50 ERA. He has 23 strikeouts in 18.0 innings. Shahan has made seven relief appearances and is 0-2 with a save. He as has a 4.08 ERA and has struck out 20 batters in 17.2 innings.
