RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech baseball team is back at home this weekend and is looking to continue to find success at their home ballpark where they are currently 7-1 at. Tech will pursue that endeavor against Southern Nazarene in a three-game Great American Conference series that is slated to start Saturday afternoon.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN NAZARENE
The Crimson Storm enter play this weekend 3-20 overall and 0-12 in the Great American Conference. SNU is coming off a big 9-6 win over Central Oklahoma in non-conference action earlier this week. Prior to that win, the Crimson Storm had been swept in a GAC series on the road at Southwestern Oklahoma.

Offensively, the Crimson Storm are hitting .253 as a team (173-for-683) with 134 runs scored, 40 doubles, five triples and 22 home runs. Entering the weekend, the Boll Weevils have two players hitting .300 or better with EJ Taylor leading the way at .414 (29-for-70).

In terms of power numbers, the Crimson Storm have seven players with a home run. Brian Brown leads the team in homers with nine. Taylor is next with five. Brown is also pacing the team in RBIs with 39. Two other Crimson Storm hitters have double-digit RBI totals

On the mound, the Crimson Storm have a 10.48 team ERA and have struck out 120 batters in 174.1 innings of work.

This past weekend, the Crimson Storm used a weekend rotation of Hutch Underwood, Payne Maga and Casey Minchey. Those three have combined to make 16 starts and are collectively 2-7 record with 47 strikeouts in 67.1 innings of work. Â

Outside of that weekend rotation, 11 different pitchers have been used by SNU. Four of those pitchers have appeared in double-digit games with Cobey Gorrell and Kasen Jackson making the most appearances with 12 each.

TECH TIDBITS
The Wonder Boys enter play this weekend 11-8 overall and 6-6 in the GAC. They are coming off a big series win at home against Arkansas-Monticello. In that series, Tech won the first game of the series, 8-4, dropped the second game, 11-4, and won the rubber game, 4-2.

Offensively, the Wonder Boys enter play against SNU hitting .285 as a team (173-for-607) with 121 runs scored, 27 doubles, four triples and 23 home runs. Individually, the Wonder Boys have four batters with at least 30 at-bats hitting .300 or better and are currently led by
Yadier Medina's .393 average (22-for-56).

In terms of power numbers, the Wonder Boys have nine players with a home run and are led by
Josh Detweiler with six.
Shelby Quiggins is just off Detweiler's pace with five home runs. Detweiler also leads the team in RBIs with 15. Five other Wonder Boys have driven in at least 10 runs as well.

Shane Scott and
Will Horton have made up the weekend rotation early on and are 7-4 combined with 89 strikeouts in 85.0 innings of work. Miner paces the starters with a 4-0 record and a 3.60 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 35.0 innings. Scott is 2-1 with a 4.40 ERA and has 21 strikeouts in 28.2 innings. Horton is currently 1-3 with an 8.02 ERA and has 25 strikeouts in 21.1 innings of work.

In relief, the Wonder Boys have notched three saves with
Ty Van Meter accounting for two of the saves. He has appeared in six games and currently has 15 strikeouts in 8.1 innings.
