RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech baseball team is set to jump back into Great American Conference play this weekend as they are at home and will take on East Central in a three-game series. The series was originally scheduled to be played Friday-Saturday, but due to the winter weather storm that rolled through earlier in the week, the series has been pushed back to Sunday-Monday.
SCOUTING EAST CENTRAL
The Tigers enter play 1-9 overall and 0-3 in the GAC after being swept by Harding in their GAC-opening series last weekend.
Statistically, the Tigers are hitting .246 as a team (70-for-285) with 47 runs scored, 12 doubles, two triples and four home runs. Entering the weekend, the Tigers have two players hitting .300 or better with Mekhi Edwards leading the way at .433 (13-for-30).
In terms of power numbers, the Tigers have three players with a home run. Eric Towsley leads the team with two homers. Three Tigers including Edwards and Towsley are tied for the team-lead in RBIs with seven. The other player is Mason Glowacki.
On the mound, the Tigers have an 11.01 team ERA and have struck out 70 batters in 76.0 innings of work.
A total of 13 pitchers have appeared in a game for the Tigers. Colt Bartling and Bryan Terry have each started three games. Bartling is 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA and has 12 strikeouts in 13.1 innings. Terry is 1-2 with a 13.06 ERA and has 10 strikeouts in 10.1 innings of work.
