ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Arkansas Tech senior kicker
Jesus Zizumbo has added to his growing list of accomplishments and awards as he has been named as a First Team All-Super Region 3 kicker by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA). The organization made the announcement on Thursday.

The all-region honor is the first for Zizumbo and the first for a Wonder Boy football player since 2017. As a first team all-region honoree, Zizumbo will now move on for consideration for the D2CCA All-America Football team that will be announced later in December.
A native of Springdale, Zizumbo kicked his way deeper into the ATU football record books in his final year leading to him earning First Team All-GAC honors as well.
Entering the year, Zizumbo had the career record for made field goals at Tech in his sights and within reach as he needed 12 makes.
The chase for the record got off to a great start as he made two in the season-opener against Southeastern Oklahoma. One of those makes also tied him with the record for the longest field goal as it was good from 52 yards.
Zizumbo then did not attempt a field goal over the next three games, putting the career record in jeopardy, but he quickly got on track in the month of October. In the first four games of that month, Zizumbo made 8-of-9 field goals was just three shy of the record with three more games left.
It would only take one more game to reach the milestone, however. In a game, he and the Wonder Boy faithful will remember for quite some time, Zizumbo made three field goals against Southwestern Oklahoma. The third of those three makes was the record-setter while also being a walk-off game-winner as time expired.
All told, Zizumbo ended his Wonder Boys career with 42 made field goals with a long of 52 yards and 109 successful extra point kicks. He would total 235 points kicking which placed him third all-time at Tech.
