KICKING OFF

After two weeks away from home, the Arkansas Tech football team returns to the familiar confines of Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field this Saturday evening as the Wonder Boys play host to Arkansas-Monticello. Saturday night's contest is ATU's annual Family Day game, but the first one that will occur since 2019 with the 2020 season being canceled due to COVID.

The Wonder Boys enter the game with UAM in search of their first win of the season and with revenge on their minds as the Boll Weevils knocked Tech off in overtime to start the 2019 season.

That game was the first for Kyle Shipp as head coach of his alma mater. Coincidentaly, it was also his first game coaching against his former employer as Shipp spent the previous five years at UAM as their assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.

UAM enters the game at 1-2 overall and are riding a two-game losing streak. Their win came in the season-opener against Southern Nazarene, 30-23.
