RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech baseball team looks to continue their hot start to Great American Conference play as the Wonder Boys have won each of their first three series this season and will enter the weekend 7-2 in league play and 9-6 overall. Their upcoming fourth GAC series takes the Wonder Boys on the road at Southern Nazarene where the Crimson Storm will enter the weekend with a 1-8 record in GAC play and a 1-12 overall record.
 
This past weekend, the Wonder Boys captured their third-straight GAC series after winning the first two games on the road at Arkansas-Monticello. Those games were played as part of a doubleheader and saw the Wonder Boys out-score the Boll Weevils 13-3. UAM would end up winning the series finale to stave off the sweep.
 
As a team, the Wonder Boys are hitting .295 with 30 doubles, five triples and 13 home runs. Five players for the Wonder Boys are currently hitting over .300. Matt Robbins has the highest average at .385 (20-for-52). In terms of power numbers, three Wonder Boys have at three home runs and double-digit RBIs. The top RBI-man is Evan Hafley with 14. He is also tied for second on the team in home runs with three. Josh Detweiler is currently the team-leader in homers with four.
 
On the mound, the Wonder Boys have a team ERA of 3.94. Seven pitchers that have appeared in multiple games have ERAs under 3.20. Of those, six are relievers with the lone starter being Hayes Cox. Cox is currently leading the team in wins with four. In five starts, Cox has recorded 25 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. The top strikeout total on the staff belongs to Patrick Miner with 31 Ks.
 
For SNU, the Crimson Storm are hitting .267 as a team with 18 doubles, no triples and 11 home runs. Four players from their everyday lineup are hitting over .300. Cole Embrey currently leads the team in batting average at .387 (12-for-31). The top power hitter for the Crimson Storm is Colby Entwistle as he leads the team with four home runs and also has a team-best 10 RBIs.
 
In terms of pitching, the Crimson Storm have a team ERA of 14.79. The lone win on the year for the Crimson Storm was secured by Triston Graves. Including Graves, the Crimson Storm have used four other starting pitchers. Elijah Brady and Patrick Hine have each started at least three games for SNU. Hine has registered the most strikeouts with 14 in 11.0 innings.
