WONDER BOYS SET TO PLAY EAST CENTRAL

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After closing out a four-game home stand with a 10-0 win over Ouachita, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boy baseball team will now play its next seven games on the road, beginning with a three-game series at East Central this weekend. Tech will play the Tigers in a single game on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech holds a 28-15 advantage in the all-time series against East Central that began in 2000. Arkansas Tech swept last season's three-game series in Russellville, Ark. The Wonder Boys scored 12 or more runs in all three games, finishing the series outscoring the Tigers 41-22.

SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (13-8, 7-2 GAC) has won four of its last five games, and is coming off a 10-0 shutout win over Ouachita. The Wonder Boys are now 7-1 when playing at Carl Baswell Field and 4-5 when playing on the road.

Tristan Thomas leads the Wonder boys and ranks fifth in the GAC in batting average at .388. Thomas is also ranked first in the conference in hits (31), RBIs (26), and total bases (48), while ranking fourth in runs scored (20) and is tied for fifth in home runs (4).
 
Dylan McDearmon leads the GAC in runs scored (23), is ranked second in doubles (7), second in total bases (47), second in slugging percentage (.701), tied for second in home runs (5), seventh in on base percentage (.476), eighth in hits (25) and ninth in batting average (.373).
 
Arkansas Tech is the only school in the conference to have five players ranked inside the top six in the GAC in runs scored and five players inside the top eight in hits.
 
Reigning GAC Player of the Week, Britt Stroth, will look to keep his reach base safely streak alive, as he has reached base safely in all 21 games this season. Fellow senior, Harry Gard, will also look to keep a streak alive as he carries a 13-game hitting-streak into the weekend.
 
GAC Co-Pitcher of the Week, Layton Robinson will try to remain dominant on the mound as he is coming off a five-hit, complete-game shutout. Robinson has a 1.00 ERA this season, second-best in the GAC, and has not allowed an earned run in the last 17.0 innings he has pitched.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
East Central (3-17, 3-5 GAC) enters the weekend having lost four of its last five games. Prior to a 9-1 mid-week loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State, the Tigers lost two of three to Harding (1-9, 3-1, 5-6).

Josh Lincoln and Gage Wall lead the ECU offense. Lincoln is batting a team-high .359, while Wall is batting .319. Lincoln paces the Tigers with 23 hits, 25 total bases, nine runs, and a .400 on base percentage. Wall leads ECU with a .511 slugging percentage.

Alec Lemmon and Jonny Chavez headline the Tigers pitching rotation. Lemmon has posted a 1-2 record in five starts, posting a team-high 33 strikeouts. Lemmon has also pitched a team-high 27.1 innings with a 4.28 ERA. Chavez has a 0-2 record in four starts and 20.0 innings. Chavez has a 4.50 ERA and is holding opposing batters to a .269 batting average. Jeffrey Shafer is the third pitcher in the ECU rotation and has a 1-1 record in four starts and 17.1 innings. Shafer has a 7.27 ERA and is holding opposing batters to a .351 batting average.
