RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After picking up a mid-week win over Union University, the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball team returns to Great American Conference play this weekend as they host Henderson State.
The three-game series will begin with a doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m. followed by a single game on Monday at 1 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Wonder Boys hold a 90-67 advantage in the all-time series against Henderson State that began in 1914. Arkansas Tech won two of the three matchups last season, capped with an 8-5 win in Arkadelphia, Ark. on Mar. 12.
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (6-6, 2-1 GAC) has won three of its last four games after picking up two conference wins against Ouachita and one non-conference win against Union last week.
Dylan McDearmon has been the hot hand recently as he has recorded eight hits, scored nine runs, hit three doubles, two home runs and tallied five RBIs over the last four games. For the season, McDearmon is batting .400 and has team-highs in hits (20), doubles (5), home runs (4), runs (18), slugging percentage (.740) and RBIs (15).
Riley Hickerson leads the team with a .422 batting average.
On the mound,
Isaac Hale anchors the rotation and is followed by
Hayes Cox and
Zack Kesterson. Hale, who has posted a 2-0 record, leads the team in innings pitched (16.1) and strikeouts (12). Hale has also held opposing batters to a .207 batting average. Cox and Kesterson both picked up their first wins of the season this past week as Cox threw a complete game shutout in Tech's 8-0 win over Ouachita, while Kesterson pitched 5.0 shutout innings in the Wonder Boys 7-3 win over Union. Kesterson has also found his way into the batting order and his hitting .438. In the five games in which Kesterson has recorded an at-bat he has gone 7-for-16 from the plate with three doubles, three runs scored and six RBIs.
SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State (3-6, 0-3 GAC) enters the weekend on a five-game losing streak after being swept by No. 17 Southern Arkansas (15-11, 9-0, 5-1) this past weekend.
Brandon Pollock leads the Reddies with a .296 batting average, while Blake Wynn leads the team with nine hits and three doubles. John Meyer has scored a team-high nine runs and Danny Mitchell Jr. and Joseph Shepherd lead the team with ten RBIs.
Matthew Baker, Zach Eschberger and Carson Cox headline the Reddie pitching rotation. Baker has posted a 1-1 record, with team-highs in innings pitched (15.2) and strikeouts. Eschberger has a 1-1 record and has held opposing batters to a .196 batting average, while Cox is 0-1 and has allowed a .313 batting average to opposing batters.
