Week 3 Game Notes - Tech vs. Oklahoma Baptist (Mr. T Edition)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys football team will return to action on Saturday, September 15, heading to Shawnee, Okla. for a matchup against the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University. Kickoff from Crain Stadium is set for 1 p.m. 

The game will be carried live locally on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville, with live audio, video, and statistics available at www.arkansastechsports.com. 

Oklahoma Baptist has seen its fortunes turn somewhat this season with a 2-0 start with wins over East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma. After being picked to finish tied for last, a 2-0 start has the Bison riding high. 

Quarterback Preston Haire has been solid as the signal-caller for the Bison, completing 68 percent of his passes and averaging 306.5 yards per game to lead the GAC. His favorite target, wideout Cagney Roberson, leads the GAC with his 9.5 catches and 124.5 yards per game. 

The Wonder Boys will be looking for their first win in Shawnee since 1930. 

Tech is coming off an overtime setback to Henderson State last week, but had some bright spots, particularly with the play of Carter Burcham, who completed 20 passes for 306 yards and three scores and Terrez Hampton, who opened play with an 84-yard touchdown reception from Burcham on the first play from scrimmage. 

The Wonder Boys will return home the following week to host Southern Nazarene in a Family Day tilt.
