RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech baseball will wrap up its regular season this weekend, as the Wonder Boys travel to Searcy, Ark. for a three-game Great American Conference series with Harding. The series is scheduled to begin with a single game on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Tech leads the all-time series against Harding, 88-49. The two teams played each other seven times last season, with Tech taking four of the seven games, including three of the last four. During that seven game span the Wonder Boys outscored the Bisons 61-35. In the last matchup Tech defeated Harding 10-6 in an elimination game in the GAC Championships to advance the Wonder Boys to the GAC Championships semifinals.
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (27-18, 19-11 GAC) has lost four of its last five games, after dropping two of the three games to Southern Arkansas last weekend, marking just the second series loss in Great American Conference play for Tech this season. Arkansas Tech currently sits in fourth in the GAC standings, just one game back from a tie for second with Southern Arkansas and Henderson State. The Wonder Boys have however, claimed the No. 10 in the NCAA Division II Central Region poll and clinched a spot at the Great American Conference Championships.
Tech has posted a .306 team batting average this season, which ranks third in the conference, while limiting opponents to hit just .290.
Britt Stroth leads the Wonder Boys with a .358 average this season and over the past ten games that average is bumped up to .439. Stroth also paces Tech with a .458 on-base percentage which ranks as the eighth-best in the GAC.
Riley Hickerson leads the team with 51 runs batted in and 61 hits, which are ranked as the third and fifth-best in the conference, respectively.
Cody Wescott is hitting .381 with three home runs in his last ten games. Wescott leads the team and is in a tie for fourth in the GAC with ten home runs on the season. Wescott's ten home runs this season also rank as the eighth most in a season in school history.
Over the weekend,
Hayes Cox picked up his eighth win of the season, which is tied for the most wins in the conference and is also tied for the third most wins in a season in school history. Cox has posted a 3.28 earned-run average which ranks third in the GAC and has also pitched 71.1 innings, which is the eighth-best in the conference.
Nolan Withrow has posted a team-low 3.00 earned-run average with a 2-0 record in 18.0 innings of work. Withrow also picked up his fifth save of the season in the Wonder Boy's 6-5 win over Southern Arkansas, which is tied for the fourth most in the GAC. Withrow's five saves this season is tied for the sixth most in a season in school history. Withrow is two saves behind Drew Buford, who recorded seven saves in the 2005 season.
SCOUTING THE BISONS
Harding (26-21, 15-15 GAC) has won six of its last eight games, including two wins over both Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello. Most recently, the Bisons defeated Union University 4-2 on Tuesday. Harding currently ranks seventh in the GAC standings.
The Bisons have four batters hitting over .300, led by Nolan Fertig with a .343 batting average. Grant Guest follows with a .330 average and leads HU with a .462 slugging percentage, 60 hits, 41 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. Chris Taylor follows with a .252 average and a team-high 37 runs batted in, while Luke Van Dover leads the team with five home runs, three of which have come in his last 17 at-bats.
HU is holding opposing teams to a .282 batting average and their 5.95 earned-run average ranks seventh in the GAC. The Bisons are led by Tanner Smith's 3.96 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched. Logan McCall leads Harding's bullpen with a 3.80 earned-run average in 23.2 innings.
