WONDER BOYS HOST MULERIDERS TUESDAY AT TECH FIELD

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech baseball is scheduled to host Southern Arkansas at Tech Field on Tuesday, April 2, for a non-conference contest. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES

Southern Arkansas leads the all-time series against Tech, 102-59. The Wonder Boys won three of four games in 2017's regular season, however, including an 8-4 win over the Muleriders in last year's midweek game.

SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS

Arkansas Tech (21-11) has won four consecutive games and nine of its last 10. The Wonder Boys are third in the Great American Conference with a .301 team batting average and fourth with a 5.02 earned-run average. 

Over the last 10 games, Britt Stroth leads Tech with a .441 batting average and .578 on-base percentage. Korey Thompson is batting .419 over the last 10 games, including a walk-off single to give the Wonder Boys a 12-11 win over East Central on Friday. Riley Hickerson, the reigning GAC Player of the Week, leads the team with a .372 average this season, and he has batted in 10 runs over the last four games.

Layton Robinson has started the previous two midweek games for the Wonder Boys, allowing just one earned run in 16.0 innings on the mound. Robinson has 19 strikeouts and two wins in his last two outings combined. Nolan Withrow leads Tech's bullpen with a 2.65 earned-run average in 17.0 innings this season. 

SCOUTING THE MULERIDERS

Southern Arkansas (22-9) is currently ranked 24th in the latest Division II Collegiate Baseball rankings. The Muleriders are coming off a three-game sweep over Ouachita in conference play last weekend. 

SAU is batting .282 as a team this season, while leading the GAC with a 4.33 earned-run average. Jacob Richardson leads the Muleriders with a .362 batting average, and he ranks second in the conference with 39 runs batted in. Hunter Lewis has started the previous two midweek games for SAU, allowing seven runs in 4.1 innings. Eric White leads SAU's bullpen with 17.0 innings pitched without a run allowed.
