ALL-TIME SERIES
In a series that began in 1950, the Wonder Boys hold a 21-10 all-time advantage. Tech split the two-game series with Lyon last year as the Scots claimed a 5-4 victory in the first game, while the Wonder Boys won 6-5 in the second meeting.
SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech (10-7, 5-4 GAC) has won four of its last five games, including two wins over Ouachita on Mar. 2 and Mar. 3. The Wonder Boys out hit OUA 32-25 and outscored the Tigers 24-10.
Connor Brady led the Wonder Boys with six hits and two doubles, last weekend in the series against Ouachita. Kyle Gibbs batted in five runs during the three-game series, including a three-run home run in the first game. Riley Hickerson leads Tech with a .381 batting average this season, and he has reached base in all 17 games.
Hayes Cox led Tech's pitching staff with a complete-game shutout in the final game of the series last weekend to earn his third win as a Wonder Boy. Cox set a new season-high with nine strikeouts in the 11-0 win. Cox leads Tech's starting pitchers and is ranked second in the GAC with a 1.74 earned-run average in five starts this season.
SCOUTING THE SCOTS
Lyon (11-6, 5-1 AMC) has won four straight and eight of its last nine games. The Scots are coming off a series sweep of Hannibal-LaGrange University. Lyon took the first game 7-4, won the second game 8-0 and completed the sweep with an 8-2 win in the final game of the series.
Logan Reddick leads the Scots with 20 hits and a .377 batting average, while Kylan Barnett leads in doubles (8), home runs (2) and RBIs (19).
Tyson Campbell leads Lyon on the mound with a 4-0 record. Campbell has pitched 33.0 innings and has registered a 2.73 earned-run average this season. Reese Chovanec comes out of the bullpen. Chovanec has appeared in five games, pitching 14.0 innings and recording a 2.57 earned-run average on the season.
