GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Arkansas Tech baseball dropped its first game of the 2018 season on Thursday, falling 6-2 to Angelo State.

• Kesterson pitched the first five innings in the first game of his Arkansas Tech career, allowing six runs and striking out four. 
• Jake Mattox relieved Kesterson in the sixth and pitched the final four innings without allowing a hit. Mattox faced 15 batters in his first appearance as a Wonder Boy, striking out three.
• Hickerson batted in the first run for Tech, recording an RBI-single on his first at bat as a Wonder Boy. 
• Michael Post recorded a hit in his lone at bat after pinch hitting for Thompson in the bottom of the ninth inning. The single pushed McDearmon to second base with two outs, but a strikeout ended the game with Tech trailing, 6-2. 
• The Wonder Boys were held to six hits in the loss, while Angelo State finished with nine.
