WONDER BOYS HOST BULLDOGS IN HOMECOMING TILT

Tech vs. SWOSU Game Notes - "The Big Lebowski" Edition

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys football team will return to action in its penultimate home contest of the 2018 season, hosting Southwestern Oklahoma in a homecoming matchup to be played at the friendly confines of Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field on Saturday, October 20. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

Both Tech (2-5) and Southwestern Oklahoma (2-5) both look to snap three-game skids and must win out in order to secure a winning record for the season. Tech is coming off a 21-0 setback at Northwestern Oklahoma, while Southwestern fell 50-10 to Harding last weekend.

Of note for the Wonder Boys is the ongoing records chase of Bryan Allen. With 3,317 career yards, Allen sits just 94 yards behind all-time Tech leader Eddie Meador (1955-58) and 287 yards behind all-time record holder Larry Brown (3,603 yards, 1968-71). The senior is also poised to climb the GAC rankings, sitting 136 yards behind former Southeastern Oklahoma back Devlon Wortham for second all-time in the GAC and 176 yards shy of current Ouachita back Kris Oliver, who eclipsed Wortham's mark on Thursday night in OBU's shutout win over Southern Nazarene.

The game begins a stretch for the Wonder Boys that will see them travel to Southeastern Oklahoma next Saturday before returning home for the home finale on November 3 against East Central. Tech plays its final regular-season game on Saturday, November 10 at Harding.

Live audio, video, and statistics for Saturday's game are available at www.arkansastechsports.com, while the game will be broadcast locally on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville.
