NO. 24 ARKANSAS TECH SET TO HOST HARDING

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - With a 14-match win streak and a ranking of 24th in the NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns will host Harding in Tucker Coliseum on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring peanut butter to donate to River Valley Food 4 Kids, as part of Tech's Fight On Against Childhood Hunger campaign. Donations will be collected in the north entrance tunnel of Tucker Coliseum.

Arkansas Tech (14-0, 1-0) has moved into the Division II AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll for the first time in program history after its second best start to a season ever. The 2017 Golden Suns trail only the 2008 Golden Suns, who started the season 16-0.

Tech opened play in the Great American Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 12, defeating Southern Arkansas in straight sets. The Golden Suns have also defeated two ranked teams this season, opening the season with a 3-1 win over No. 16 Washburn before taking down No. 15 Central Missouri in five sets last Thursday. Arkansas Tech has only lost five sets this entire season, and the Suns have won 10 of 14 matches in straight sets.

The Golden Suns currently lead the GAC in hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage, while Tech's 691 kills lead all of Division II. Amanda Milnick is coming off her third consecutive GAC Setter of the Week award, and she leads the conference in assists and ranks third in attack percentage. Hunter Eshnaur paces the Suns with 3.02 kills per set, and Lexie Johnston leads Arkansas Tech and the GAC with a .392 attack percentage. Madison Nagel's 4.51 digs per set ranks sixth in the conference, and Greer Rogers sits second in the GAC with 1.23 blocks per set.

Harding (12-1, 1-0) opened its season with an 11-match win streak, including a five-set win over Washburn. The Lady Bisons suffered their first loss to No. 15 Central Missouri in three sets last weekend. Harding is currently tied for second in Division II in wins, trailing only Arkansas Tech.

The Lady Bisons also rank just behind Tech in hitting percentage, opponent hitting, assists and kills. Harding's Rachel Huessner is currently tied with Tech's Milnick with a GAC-leading 450 assists. Zoe Hardin leads the Lady Bisons with 2.82 kills per set, while she leads the conference with 1.25 blocks per set.
