WONDER BOYS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER WITH NO. 18 DELTA STATE

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys split a nonconference doubleheader with No. 18 Delta State on Wednesday, highlighted by a 10-3 victory for the Wonder Boys in game one.

  • Arkansas Tech returns to Great American Conference play this weekend, as the Wonder Boys host Henderson State at Tech Field. The three-game series begins with a nine-inning game at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10.

NOTABLES
  • With game one's victory, Arkansas Tech extended its win streak to eight games, the Wonder Boys' longest streak since winning 22 consecutive games in 2014.
  • All nine batters in the lineup for Arkansas Tech recorded a hit in game one, five of them finishing with two hits. Vaughn, Wescott and Post led the way with two runs batted in each.
  • Robinson started the day on the mound for the Wonder Boys, allowing just one earned run through two innings. Bowling relieved Robinson for three innings, allowing just one unearned run. Nate Rutherford pitched the final two innings of game one and held the Statesmen scoreless.
  • Tech finished game two with just two hits, both coming in the first inning. Klockowski led the offense with his seventh double of the season and team-leading 26th RBI.
  • Hale was handed the loss in the second game, despite not allowing an earned run through four innings. The Statesmen led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, and an error on a pickoff attempt sent the runner to third. A single up the middle on the next at bat gave the victory to Delta State.
