NO. 16 ARKANSAS TECH HOSTS SWOSU AND NWOSU THIS WEEKEND

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas Tech will host a pair of Great American Conference volleyball matches this weekend, as the 16th-ranked Golden Suns take on Southwestern Oklahoma and Northwestern Oklahoma. Tech and SWOSU are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m., followed by Tech and NWOSU on Saturday at 2 p.m.

This week's non-perishable food item to donate to River Valley Food 4 Kids is pasta. Fans are encouraged to bring pasta to either of this weekend's matches. Donations will be collected in the north entrance tunnel of Tucker Coliseum.

Arkansas Tech (22-0, 7-0 GAC) set the GAC record for consecutive wins after picking up two non-conference victories on Tuesday. The Suns are four shy of tying the Arkansas Tech record for consecutive wins. Tech is currently one of four remaining undefeated teams in Division II, and the Golden Suns lead the nation in wins, kills and opponent hitting percentage.

Amanda Milnick leads the conference in assists per set (10.42), while Lexie Johnston ranks 11th in Division II in hitting percentage (.401). In seven conference matches this season, Allie Anderson has led the Suns with 3.32 kills per set and a .331 attack percentage.

Southwestern Oklahoma (9-13, 5-2 GAC) has won five of its last six matches, including four consecutive wins in conference play. The Bulldogs defeated Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello last weekend to move to fifth in the GAC standings. SWOSU ranks third in the GAC in digs per set, led by Kaitlyn Dillon's 5.17 digs per set, also third highest in the conference.

Northwestern Oklahoma (16-5, 6-1 GAC) is riding an 11-match win streak, most recently defeating Southern Nazarene on Wednesday. The Rangers have won six consecutive GAC matches, after falling to Oklahoma Baptist, 3-1, in the first conference contest of the season. NWOSU ranks second in the GAC with a .237 attack percentage, while the Rangers lead the conference with 1.92 aces per set. Hannah Williams and Jennifer Eubanks have combined for 6.40 kills per set this season.
