RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball team (20-27, 11-19 Great American Conference) travels to Searcy, Arkansas this weekend for an important three-game series against Harding (22-25, 13-17 GAC) Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2.

The Wonder Boys and Bison will open with a Sunday doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. with the series finale slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch on Monday.

The three-game series will ultimately decide who will make the last two spots in the GAC Tournament. Heading into the series, Wonder Boys are in the No. 9 spot just a game back of Ouachita Baptist for the No. 8 seed and two games back of Harding in the No. 7 spot.

Tech coming into the series has won three of their last four games, including taking two out of three games at Northwestern Oklahoma last weekend, which at the time put Tech into a three-way tie for the No. 8 spot with the Rangers and Ouachita Baptist.

To win the series, Arkansas Tech had to battle through 11 innings with Northwestern Oklahoma, taking advantage of a crucial Rangers error in the 11
th inning to eventually come away with a 5-4 win.

The Wonder Boys followed up the win with an impressive 4-3 non-conference victory over No. 20 Arkansas-Monticello on the road on Tuesday.
