Tech vs. Southeastern Game Notes
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech football team will return to the gridiron this Saturday as the Wonder Boys visit Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant, Oklahoma. Kickoff from Paul Laird Field is set for 2 p.m.
The game will be carried live on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville, and live audio, video, and statistics will be available at www.arkansastechsports.com.
The Wonder Boys have been on a roll as of late, winning back-to-back ballgames in impressive fashion. After topping Ouachita Baptist 49-17 in Arkadelphia, Tech returned home for a 55-14 win over East Central. The Wonder Boys put up 613 yards of total offense against ECU, tying for the sixth-highest single-game offensive output in program history.Â
Saturday's matchup features two of the top running attacks in the Great American Conference. However, when it comes to stopping the run, the Wonder Boys have a decided edge. Tech ranks second in the GAC, allowing just over 100 yards per game on the ground.Â
Arkansas Tech has been able to find some success in the air as well as
Jabyes Cross has made himself at home under center. The signal-caller now ranks tops in the GAC in quarterback efficiency and pass completion percentage.Â
Tech will be looking for its first win in Durant since Sept. 5, 1992. The Wonder Boys have won four of the last five matchups - with all four of the wins taking place in Russellville.Â
