WONDER BOYS TO HOST EAST CENTRAL SATURDAY

Tech vs. ECU Game Notes

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Following the team's strongest overall performance of the 2016 season, Arkansas Tech will look to pick up its second consecutive football win this Saturday as the Wonder Boys play host to East Central on a 6 p.m. contest at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field.

The Wonder Boys (3-3) are coming off their first road win of the season, a 49-17 victory at Ouachita Baptist. Jabyes Cross completed 27 of 34 passes for 265 yards, and Kristian Thompson scored three touchdowns in the Wonder Boys' victory. Defensively, Cua' Rose turned in 12 tackles and a pass breakup, but picked up his biggest stat of the game on a special teams play, as he returned a blocked field goal 71 yards for a touchdown.

For East Central (1-5), the Tigers look to snap a three-game skid. ECU's lone win of the season came back on Sept. 17 at Southern Nazarene, and after an overtime loss to Oklahoma Baptist, ECU has dropped games to Northwestern Oklahoma (42-26) and Southwestern Oklahoma (41-7).

Quarterbacks Brooks Holder and Jackson Lamb have shared snaps this season for ECU, combining to complete 145 of 242 passes for 1,872 yards and 14 touchdowns. The aerial attack is ECU's primary weapon, as the two have worked with receiver David Moore to put up their offensive numbers. Moore has hauled in 33 passses for 578 yards and eight touchdowns.

When ECU has run the ball, it has done so the most effectively with Je'Qualon Wright. The freshman averages 4.2 yards per carry.

Saturday's game will be the second-to-last home game of the 2016 season for the Wonder Boys. The game will be carried live on 102.3-FM (KCJC) in Russellville, with live audio, video, and statistics available at www.arkansastechsports.com.
