TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is looking for a reset this coming weekend as they will be at home on Thursday night against (rv) Southern Nazarene and Saturday afternoon against No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.

This will be the 30th meeting all-time between Tech and Southern Nazarene and the second this season. SNU won the initial game this season, 62-39, at home back on January 10. The series began in 1983 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2012. The Crimson Storm currently hold a 19-10 record in the series.

Against Oklahoma Baptist, this will be the 22nd meeting all-time between Tech and Oklahoma Baptist and the second this season. The Bison won the initial meeting this season, 82-75, at home back on January 8. The series began in 1968 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2016. The Bison currently hold a 13-8 record in the series.

Tip-off for the Southern Nazarene game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5 while the Oklahoma Baptist game will have a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, February 7.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enter the weekend of action at 7-12 overall and 5-8 in the Great American Conference. They have lost two-straight games with both defeats coming on the road last weekend against Southwestern Oklahoma and Northwestern Oklahoma.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 67.6 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 68.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are ninth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .432 (445-of-1,029). Their opponents are shooting at a .398 mark (431-of-1,084) to rank second.

Mark Downey, who is in his sixth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint,
Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season,
Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.

Downey has amassed a 154-123 record. Overall,
Downey is in his 19th season as a head coach and has career record of 320-229.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON STORM
Southern Nazarene enters the weekend 15-4 overall and 9-4 in the GAC. They have won two-straight games with both coming at home last weekend against Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas. The Crimson Storm are receiving votes in the latest NABC Top-25 poll released this past Tuesday.

Statistically, the Crimson Storm average 74.5 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Crimson Storm rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Crimson Storm are sixth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .442 (498-of-1,126) and allow their opponents to post a .439 mark (443-of-1,010) to rank seventh.

Oklahoma Baptist enters this weekend 17-2 overall and 11-2 in the GAC. The Bison will have played a game on the road at Harding on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon. Heading into the weekend, the Bison have won eight-straight games and are ranked No. 10 in the latest NABC Top-25 poll released this past Tuesday.

Statistically, the Bison average 79.7 ppg and rank first in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank seventh in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 69.9 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bison are second in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .475 (561-of-1,182) and allow their opponents to post a .414 mark (446-of-1,077) to rank fourth.
