Golden Suns finish T5 at the Rattler Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Arkansas Tech women's golf team concluded their first tournament of the spring on Tuesday and finished in a tie for fifth among a 17-team field at the Rattler Invitational.
 
OFFICIAL RESULTS

For the tournament, the Golden Suns shot 920 (+56). They were led by Ellen Spigner who finished ninth. The senior shot 24 spots up the individual leaderboard in the final round on Tuesday as she fired a one-under (71). Overall, Spigner ended the tournament at nine-over (225).
 
Maria Ruiz also had significant moving on the leaderboard on Tuesday as she climbed 12 spots to finish the tournament tied for 41st. In the final round, Ruiz shot five-over and was 19-over for the tournament.
 
Jaylee Castro finished as the second low score for the Golden Suns for the tournament as she placed in a tie for 20th. Overall, Castro shot 14-over and had rounds of 75-76-79.
 
Averi Mickelson and Jessie Norman also competed for the Golden Suns at the Rattler Invitational and finished T45 and T61, respectively.
 
The Golden Suns will now prepare for their next tournament, the Buccaneer Invitational. That two-day event is being hosted by Barry University at the Miami Shores Country Club in Miami Shores, Florida from Monday, March 9 – Tuesday, March 10.
