ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team lost on the road on Saturday afternoon at No. 16 Ouachita Baptist by a score of 71-57.
Early action in the first half was closely contested, but after Ouachita broke an 8-all tie at the 15:42 mark, the Tigers would finish the remainder of the game with the lead. Despite trailing, the Wonder Boys kept the Tigers within reach throughout the first half and managed to get the deficit down to a single possession on several occasions.
The last of those first-half instances had it as a three-point game, but in the closing seconds of the first half, Ouachita got a layup to fall to give them a five-point lead at the break.
The Tigers would then build upon that lead in the second half, pushing it to double digits by the 16:13 mark. The Ouachita lead reached a high-point of 21 points at the 10:20 mark, but the Wonder Boys were able to trim off seven points from that by the final buzzer.
The Wonder Boys were led in scoring by
Damon Augustus and
Reggie Reinhardt as both scored in double digits off the bench. Augustus had the most points with 11 followed by Reinhardt's 10.
Tech will now gear up for another week of road games as they will play at Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday night and then at East Central on Saturday afternoon.
