TIPPING OFF
Having broken into the national rankings earlier this week, the No. 25-ranked Arkansas Tech women's basketball team is set to go on the road for a pair of pivotal road games, starting first at No. 11-ranked Harding on Thursday and then at Ouachita Baptist on Saturday.
 
This will be the 88th meeting all-time between Tech and Harding and the second meeting this season. The Golden Suns won the first meeting, 84-69, at home on January 22. The series began in 1984 and has been played as conference rivals since. The Golden Suns currently hold a 65-23 record in the series
 
Against Ouachita Baptist, this will be the 99th meeting all-time between Tech and Ouachita Baptist and the second this season. The Golden Suns won the first meeting, 99-71, at home back on January 3. The series began in 1977 and the two have played regularly every year since as conference rivals. Overall, Tech leads the series 79-19.
 
Tip-off for the Harding game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 12 while the Ouachita Baptist game will have a 1 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, February 14.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 17-3 overall and 14-3 in the GAC. They have won four-straight and now ranked in the top-25 checking in at No. 25 in the latest WBCA Division II Top-25 poll released on Tuesday. They are coming off a 75-69 win at home against Arkansas-Monticello this past Monday.
 
Statistically, the Golden Suns average 81.9 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 70.2 ppg to rank 12th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .443 (570-of-1,288) to rank first in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .416 mark (492-of-1,184) to rank ninth.
 
From beyond the arch, the Golden Suns are shooting .334 (145-of-434) to rank third and are allowing their opponents to make three-pointers at a .332 clip (123-of-371) to rank 12th. At the charity stripe, the Golden Suns are shooting .774 (353-of-456) to rank sixth.
 
Individually, the Golden Suns have three players scoring in double figures. Logan Young leads the way at 17.6 ppg followed by AbbiGrace Cunningham at 11.8 ppg. Perina Leime rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.2 ppg.
 
Dessie Lancaster leads the team in rebound average at 6.5 rpg. In terms of assists, Shalyn Lyle leads the team at 3.1 apg.
 
Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by Young at 1.8 spg each. Young also leads the team in blocks at 1.0 bpg.
 
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech, Wilbers has amassed a 380-156 overall record. Nine times, Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 11 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
 
SCOUTING THE LADY BISONS
Harding is 19-3 overall and are 13-3 in the GAC. They have won their last five games and are ranked No. 11 in the latest WBCA DII Top-25 poll released on Tuesday. Their most-recent game was a 94-77 win at home against Ouachita Baptist this past Monday.
 
Statistically, the Lady Bisons average 69.3 ppg and rank sixth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Lady Bisons rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 61.0 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lady Bisons are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .411 (533-of-1,297) and are allowing their opponents a .388 mark (504-of-1,299) to rank seventh.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Lady Bisons shoot at a clip of .334 (144-of-431) to rank second in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .312 (134-of-430) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Lady Bisons shoot .793 as a team (314-of-396) to rank third.
 
Individually, the Lady Bisons have five players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Josie Williams and her 12.8 ppg. Kori Sanders and Kennedy Stout are next at 10.7 ppg followed by Maddi Holt at 10.6 ppg. Allie Rehl rounds out double figure scoring at 10.0 ppg.
 
Stout is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.2 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Sanders leads the team and is averaging 4.5 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Lady Bisons are led in steals by Sanders at 2.3 steals per game and in blocks by Stout at 2.2 blocks per game.
 
The Lady Bisons are coached by Tim Kirby, who is in his 21st season at Harding. In his time at Harding, Kirby is 420-186.
 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Ouachita Baptist enters this weekend 12-8 overall and 9-7 in the GAC. The Tigers will have played a game "on the road" at Henderson State on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon. Heading into the weekend, the Tigers are coming off a 94-77 loss on the road at Harding home this past Monday.
 
Statistically, the Tigers average 73.3 ppg and rank second in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Tigers rank 10th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 69.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Tigers are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .414 (480-of-1,159) and are allowing their opponents a .386 mark (489-of-1,268) to rank sixth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Tigers shoot at a clip of .344 (166-of-483) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .280 (114-of-407) to rank first. From the free throw line, the Tigers shoot .778 as a team (339-of-436) to rank fifth.
 
Individually, the Tigers have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Madeline Tipton and her 16.2 ppg. Heidi Robinson is next at 14.5 ppg while Abbey Harrison rounds out double-figure scoring at 11.2 ppg.
 
Audri Winfrey is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Robinson leads the team and is averaging 3.1 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Tigers are led in steals by Harrison at 0.9 steals per game and in blocks by Harrison at 1.3 blocks per game.
 
The Tigers are coached by Nick Long, who is in his first season at Ouachita Baptist. In his time at Ouachita, Long is 12-8 overall.
