TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team continues its drive to secure a spot in the upcoming Great American Conference Tournament and are set to embark on a pivotal weekend of road games, first playing at Harding on Thursday and then at No. 16-ranked Ouachita Baptist on Saturday.
 
This will be the 159th meeting all-time between Tech and Harding and the second this season. Tech won the initial game this season, 64-56, at home back on January 22. The series began in 1925-26 and have played regularly since as conference opponents. Tech currently holds a 91-67 record in the series.
 
Against Ouachita, this will be the 187th meeting all-time between Tech and Ouachita and the second this season. The Tigers won the initial meeting this season, 61-55, at on the road back on January 3. The series began in 1926 and the two have played regularly since as conference opponents. Overall, Ouachita leads the series 95-91.
 
Tip-off for the Harding game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 12 while the Ouachita Baptist game will have a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, February 14.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enter the weekend at 8-14 overall and 6-10 in the Great American Conference. They are coming off a 73-62 win at home against Arkansas-Monticello this past Monday. That win snapped a four-game losing skid.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 67.8 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 68.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are eighth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .440 (517-of-1,174). Their opponents are shooting at a .401 mark (501-of-1,248) to rank second.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .345 (167-of-484) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .287 (154-of-536) to rank second. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .739 as a team (291-of-394) to rank fifth.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by David Elliott IV and his 13.0 ppg. Connor Davis is next in scoring and rounds out double-figure scoring at 11.4 ppg. Three other players are averaging at least 9.0 ppg as well.
 
Devin Foster is leading the team in rebounding and is averaging 5.5 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Elliott IV leads the team and is averaging 3.3 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Elliott IV at 1.4 steals per game and in blocks by Foster at 1.0 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his sixth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
 
In his time at Tech, which is now in its 10th season overall, Downey has amassed a 155-125 record. Overall, Downey is in his 19th season as a head coach and has career record of 321-231.
 
SCOUTING THE BISONS
Harding enters the weekend 15-7 overall and 11-5 in the GAC. They have won two-straight and are coming off a 79-69 win against then-ranked No. 20 Ouachita Baptist this past Monday.
 
Statistically, the Bisons average 74.4 ppg and rank third in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bisons rank second in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 64.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bisons are 12th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .417 (536-of-1,286) and allow their opponents to post a .418 mark (485-of-1,160) to rank fourth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Bisons shoot at a clip of .308 (187-of-607) to rank ninth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .310 (145-of-468) to rank fifth. From the free throw line, the Bisons shoot .792 as a team (378-of-477) to rank first.
 
Individually, the Bisons have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Keyln McBride and his 14.0 ppg. Reggie Webster is next at 12.5 ppg while Wesley Booker rounds out double-figure scoring at 12.1 pgg.
 
Booker is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, McBride leads the team and is averaging 5.4 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Bisons are led in steals by Booker at 1.5 steals per game and in blocks by Booker at 1.1 blocks per game.
 
The Bisons are coached by Weston Jameson, who is in his third season at his alma mater, Harding. In his time at Harding, Jameson is 49-34.
 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Ouachita Baptist enters this weekend 18-4 overall and 14-2 in the GAC. The Tigers are ranked No. 16 in the latest NABC DII Top-25 poll released on Tuesday. They will also have played a game at "on the road" at Henderson State on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon. Their most-recent game was a 79-69 loss on the road against Harding this past Monday.
 
Statistically, the Tigers average 75.5 ppg and rank second in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Tigers rank first in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 61.5 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Tigers are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .463 (583-of-1,258) and allow their opponents to post a .387 mark (461-of-1,191) to rank first.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Tigers shoot at a clip of .341 (158-of-463) to rank third in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .276 (128-of-463) to rank first. From the free throw line, the Tigers shoot .734 as a team (336-of-458) to rank seventh.
 
Individually, the Tigers have three players averaging double figures in scoring. They are led by Devon Hancock and his 17.6 ppg. Crew Flowers is next 11.2 ppg followed by PJ Neal who rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.2 ppg.
 
Christian Parks is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Neal leads the team and is averaging 3.7 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Tigers are led in steals by Jaxon Conley at 2.4 steals per game and in blocks by Parks at 2.5 blocks per game.
 
The Tigers are coached by Dennis Nutt, who is in his 15th season at Ouachita Baptist and his 21st overall. In his time at Ouachita, Nutt is 205-199 and is 277-295 overall.
