TIPPING OFF
A big road test awaits the Arkansas Tech men's basketball team this weekend as they hit the road for games at (rv) Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night and then No. 7-ranked Southern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon.

This will be the 20th meeting all-time between Tech and Oklahoma Baptist. The series began in 1968 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2016. Oklahoma Baptist currently holds a 12-8 record in the series.

Against Southern Nazarene, this will be the 19th meeting all-time between Tech and SNU. The series began in 1983 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2012. SNU currently holds an 18-10 record in the series.

Tip-off for the Oklahoma Baptist game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8 while the Southern Nazarene game will have a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, January 10.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enter the weekend of action at 4-8 overall and 2-4 in the Great American Conference. They have lost four-straight games and are most-recently coming off a tough 61-55 loss at home to Ouachita Baptist this past Saturday.

Oklahoma Baptist enters the weekend 10-2 overall and 4-2 in the GAC. The Bison are coming off an 85-77 win at home their last time out against Northwestern Oklahoma this past Saturday. Oklahoma Baptist is also receiving votes in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) DII Top-25 poll released on Tuesday.

Statistically, the Bison average 82.5 ppg and rank first in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank ninth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 73.8 ppg. Southern Nazarene enters this weekend 11-1 overall and 5-1 in the GAC. Southern Nazarene is ranked No. 7 in the latest NABC DII Top-25 poll released on Tuesday.

The Crimson Storm will have played a game at home against Harding on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon. Heading into the weekend, the Crim Storm are coming off a win their last time out, beating Southeastern Oklahoma, 90-60, at home this past Saturday.

Statistically, the Crimson Storm average 77.6 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Crimson Storm rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.3 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Crimson Storm are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .468 (333-of-711) and allow their opponents to post a .423 mark (279-of-660) to rank fifth.
