TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team is set to make its second trip around the Great American Conference this weekend and will start with a pair of games on the road in Oklahoma. The Golden Suns will first play at Southwestern Oklahoma on Thursday night and then at No. 24-ranked Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.

This will be the 47th meeting all-time between Tech and Southwestern Oklahoma and the second meeting this season. The Golden Suns won the first meeting, 71-63, in Russellville back on December 6. The series began in 1987 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2012. The Golden Suns currently hold a 25-21 record in the series.

Against Northwestern Oklahoma, this will be the 27th meeting all-time between Tech and NWOSU and the second this season. The Rangers won the first meeting, 72-66, in Russellville back on December 4. The series began in 1992 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2013. The Golden Suns currently hold a 21-6 record in the series.

Tip-off for the SWOSU game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29 while the NWOSU game will have a 1 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, January 31.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 13-2 overall and 9-2 in the GAC. They are coming off a convincing 84-69 win at home against then-ranked No. 12 Harding this past Thursday. Overall, the Golden Suns have won seven-straight and nine of their last 10 games. They are also now receiving votes in the latest WBCA Division II Top-25 poll released on Tuesday.

Statistically, the Golden Suns average 83.6 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 69.3 ppg to rank 11th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .449 (439-of-977) to rank first in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .420 mark (367-of-873) to rank 11th.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 376-155 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 11 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma is 6-10 overall and are 4-7 in the GAC. They have lost their last two games, both on the road. Their most-recent game was a 69-56 loss at on the road at then-ranked No. 25 Northwestern Oklahoma this past Thursday.

Statistically, the Lady Bulldogs average 62.3 ppg and rank 10th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Lady Bulldogs rank sixth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 65.3 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lady Bulldogs are 11th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .377 (352-of-933) and are allowing their opponents a .380 mark (351-of-924) to rank fifth.

Northwestern Oklahoma enters this weekend 14-3 overall and 9-2 in the GAC. The Rangers will have played a game at home against No. 15 Harding on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon. Heading into the weekend, the Rangers are ranked No. 25 in the latest WBCA DII Top-25 poll released on Tuesday and are coming off a 69-56 win at home against Southwestern Oklahoma this past Thursday.

Statistically, the Rangers average 72.1 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Rangers rank first in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 54.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Rangers are second in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .434 (456-of-1,051) and are allowing their opponents a .348 mark (318-of-915) to rank first.
