TIPPING OFF
Winners of three-straight, the Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is set to take to the road this weekend with a Thursday night game at Southwestern Oklahoma and a Saturday afternoon affair at Northwestern Oklahoma.

This will be the 44th meeting all-time between Tech and SWOSU and the second this season. Tech won the initial game this season, 65-60, at home back on December 6. The series began in 1980 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2012. The Wonder Boys currently hold a 28-15 record in the series.

Against Northwestern Oklahoma, this will be the 28th meeting all-time between Tech and Northwestern Oklahoma and the second this season. Tech won the initial meeting this season, 77-58, at home back on December 4. Â The series began in 1971 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2013. The Wonder Boys currently hold a 17-10 record in the series.

Tip-off for the Southwestern Oklahoma game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29 while the Northwestern Oklahoma game will have a 3 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, January 31.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys enter the weekend of action at 7-10 overall and 5-6 in the Great American Conference. They have won three-straight games and are most-recently coming off an exciting 64-56 comeback win against Harding at home this past Thursday.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 68.4 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 68.6 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are 10th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .434 (407-of-937). Mark Downey, who is in his sixth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint,
Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season,
Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.

Downey has amassed a 154-121 record. Overall,
Downey is in his 19th season as a head coach and has career record of 320-227.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma enters the weekend 6-11 overall and 3-8 in the GAC. They are coming off an 80-73 loss on the road at Northwestern Oklahoma in their most-recent game last Saturday.

Statistically, the Bulldogs average 68.5 ppg and rank 10th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bulldogs rank sixth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 69.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bulldogs are 11th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .426 (415-of-974) and allow their opponents to post a .440 mark (423-of-961) to rank seventh.

SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma enters this weekend 8-9 overall and 5-6 in the GAC. The Rangers will have played a game at home against Harding on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon. Heading into the weekend, the Rangers have won three-straight games and are coming off an 80-673 win at home their last time out against Southwestern Oklahoma this past Thursday.

Statistically, the Rangers average 71.8 ppg and rank ninth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Rangers rank 10th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 75.8 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Rangers are seventh in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .447 (436-of-976) and allow their opponents to post a .465 mark (459-of-987) to rank 11th.
