ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech women's cross country team started their 2025 season on Saturday morning and competed at the Bob Gravett Invitational, hosted by Ouachita Baptist. The Golden Suns would place all five of their scoring runners in the top-15 and finished runner-up as a team.
Leading the way for the Golden Suns at the Bob Gravett Invitational was
Amaya Grant. The Cushing, Okla. native finished fourth overall with a time of 18:12.21. This was the second time in her career that Grant has been the top runner for the Golden Suns at the Bob Gravett as she did so a year ago in her collegiate debut.
Just off Grant's pace was
Avery Stanley. The senior finished sixth overall with a time of 18:28.28. True freshman
Sophia Goerlich was the next Golden Sun to finish, doing so with a time of 18:36.77, placing her eighth.
Audrey Hill and
Ellie Akins were the final two scoring runners for the Golden Suns. Hill was 12
th with a time of 18:52.00 while Akins was 14
th with a time of 18:55.34.

The Golden Suns will now prepare for their next event, the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala. The meet is scheduled to take place at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12.
