RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech sophomore defensive back
Diego Sanchez has been named as the latest Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week as it was announced by the league office on Monday.
The weekly conference award is the first of the career for Sanchez and is the third for the Wonder Boys this season.
A native of Houston, Texas, Sanchez was a key cog in the Wonder Boy's defensive effort against (rv) Ouachita Baptist this past Saturday.
In the 28-23 win, Sanchez led the team in total tackles (7) and tackles for loss (2.0). He also had one of the two interceptions against the Tigers. Sanchez would return his INT 61 yards.
