JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Arkansas Tech women's cross country team took part in the Southern Showcase over the weekend and were one of 53 teams that toed the starting line. By the end of the 5K race, the Golden Suns finished 28
th overall and were the third-fasted Division II team.
Leading the way for the Golden Suns at the Southern Showcase was
Amaya Grant. She would native finish 114
th overall with a time of 18:20.47. Next was
Audrey Hill and her time of 18:50.60 to place her 185
th.
Libby Booth was not far off Hill's time and finished with a time of 18:56.52 to finish 204
th.
Avery Stanley and
Sophia Goerlich were the final two scoring runners for the Golden Suns. Stanley was 217
th with a time of 19:06.05 while Goerlich was 230
th with a time of 19:10.37.

The Golden Suns will now prepare for their next event, the Chili Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. The meet is scheduled to take place at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.
