RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – With 30 days until kickoff of the 2025 college football season, the Great American Conference released its annual preseason coaches poll. In the poll released on Tuesday, Arkansas Tech, under first-year head coach Roy Thompson, was picked to finish seventh among the 12-team league with a point total of 66.

Last year's co-champions, Harding and Ouachita Baptist, who finished 10-1 in conference play in 2024, are predicted to finish first and second in the league this year as both went over the 100-point total and shared the 12 first-place votes.
Harding slotted first after totaling 119 points and receiving nine of the 12 first-place votes. Ouachita Baptist garnered the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 108 points to rank second in the poll. Southern Arkansas and Henderson State were not too far behind with SAU garnering 99 points to rank third and Henderson totaling 96 points to place fourth.
Southeastern Oklahoma, East Central and Tech represented the next grouping of points. The Savage Storm are slotted fifth with 72 points while ECU was next with 68 points. Tech followed in seventh place with 66 points.
Southwestern Oklahoma, the Wonder Boys' season-opening opponent on the road on Thursday, September 4, is one spot below Tech with 42 points. Arkansas-Monticello was one-point back of SWOSU and is picked ninth with 41 points.
Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma Baptist and Northwestern Oklahoma rounded out the poll at 10, 11 and 12 respectively.
As mentioned previously, the Wonder Boys officially kick-off their 2025 season on the road on Thursday, September 4 at Southwestern Oklahoma. A week later, the Wonder Boys make their home debut against Northwestern Oklahoma.
Kick-off time for the game on Thursday, September 11 is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will also double as the annual Paint the Town Green and Gold game as the city of Russellville shows it support for the Wonder Boys football team.
