FORT SMITH, Ark. – On Wednesday, the Great American Conference announced its annual men's basketball all-conference selections and superlative award winners for the 2024-25 season at the pre-championship awards banquet inside the ACHE Research Institute in Fort Smith, Ark.

In that announcement, Arkansas Tech's
Cassius Brooks was named to second team. It is the second-straight season that Brooks has garnered all-conference acclaim, earning Honorable Mention plaudits last year in his first season with the Wonder Boys.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Brooks stepped into the go-to scorer role for the Wonder Boys in his senior season and averaged 18.6 points per game across his 28 games played to lead the team. Scoring double-digits in all but two games, Brooks finished the regular season fifth in the GAC in scoring.
Overall, Brooks shot 37% from the floor (164-of-438) and had an 80% success rate from the free throw line (152-of-190).
Brooks also added 4.1 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game and 1.6 steals per game in his final year as a Wonder Boy.
In addition to Brooks being named all-conference for his play on the court, a pair of Wonder Boys were honored by the league for their academic achievements.
Ethan Edwards received the Elite Scholar Athlete Award for maintaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA and at least 70 credit hours.
Kade Shaffer garnered GAC Academic Honor Roll acclaim by having a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and at least one year of full-time college residency. Both academic awards are presented by Conway Regional Health System.
