TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team remains on the road and will take on Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday afternoon and will be looking to complete the season-sweep of the Bison.
 
This will be 20th meeting all-time between Tech and Oklahoma Baptist. In a series that dates back to 1968, the series has been played in earnest since 2016 when they two became conference rivals. Overall, Oklahoma Baptist holds an 11-8 advantage in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 9-12 overall and 6-9 in the GAC. Tech has lost their last two games and are coming off a tough 68-66 loss on the road at No. 15/16 Southern Nazarene this past Thursday.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 66.8 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are 10th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .428 (495-of-1,157) and allow their opponents to shoot at a .429 mark (478-of-1,113) to rank fourth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .292 (128-of-439) to rank 11th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .342 (155-of-453) to rank seventh. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .719 as a team (284-of-395) to rank eighth.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Cassius Brooks and his 18.6 ppg. Carlos Ramsey Jr. is next and rounds out double-digit scoring at 10.9 ppg.
 
Seybian Sims is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 7.7 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Kade Shaffer leads the team and is averaging 3.7 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Brooks at 1.5 steals per game and in blocks by Sean Cobb at 0.6 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his fifth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
 
In his time at Tech, which is now in its ninth season overall, Downey has amassed a 144-106 record. Overall, Downey is in his 18th season as a head coach and has career record of 310-212.
 
SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is 13-8 overall and 10-5 in conference play. The Bison are coming off a loss their last time out, losing 84-79 at home to Harding this past Thursday.
 
Statistically, the Bison average 74.8 ppg and rank sixth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank fifth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 71.2 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bison are eighth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .439 (546-of-1,244) and allow their opponents to post a .436 mark (542-of-1,243) to rank fifth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Bison shoot at a clip of .338 (153-of-453) to rank fifth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .335 (162-of-483) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Bison shoot .747 as a team (325-of-435) to rank fourth.
 
Individually, the Bison have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Terry Coner Jr. and his 15.1 ppg. Daniel Ransom is next 10.7 ppg while Ricky Brown rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.3 ppg.
 
Nathan Wilson is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Coner Jr. leads the team and is averaging 3.2 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Bison are led in steals by Coner Jr. at 1.9 steals per game and in blocks by Wilson at 1.3 blocks per game.
 
The Bison are coached by Jason Eaker, who is in his seventh season at Oklahoma Baptist. In his time at Oklahoma Baptist, Eaker is 112-78 overall.
