TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is set to make its final road swing to the state of Oklahoma this weekend and will do first at No. 15/16 Southern Nazarene on Thursday night.
 
This will be 27th meeting all-time between Tech and Southern Nazarene. In a series that dates back to 1983, the series has been played in earnest since 2012 when they two became conference rivals. Overall, Southern Nazarene holds a 16-10 advantage in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 9-11 overall and 6-8 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a tough 71-66 loss at home against Northwestern Oklahoma this past Saturday.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 66.8 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.6 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are 10th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .430 (476-of-1,107) and allow their opponents to shoot at a .430 mark (457-of-1,064) to rank fourth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .286 (121-of-423) to rank 12th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .345 (147-of-426) to rank seventh. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .713 as a team (263-of-369) to rank eighth.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Cassius Brooks and his 18.2 ppg. Carlos Ramsey Jr. is next and rounds out double-digit scoring at 10.8 ppg.
 
Seybian Sims is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 7.6 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Kade Shaffer leads the team and is averaging 3.9 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Brooks at 1.5 steals per game and in blocks by Sean Cobb at 0.7 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his fifth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
 
In his time at Tech, which is now in its ninth season overall, Downey has amassed a 144-105 record. Overall, Downey is in his 18th season as a head coach and has career record of 310-211.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON STORM
Southern Nazarene is 16-2 overall and 13-1 in conference play. The Crimson Storm, who are ranked No. 15 and No. 16 in the latest NABC and D2CSC National Top-25 polls, have won seven-straight games with their most-recent being an 83-62 win on the road at Southern Arkansas this past Saturday.
 
Statistically, the Crimson Storm average 74.2 ppg and rank seventh in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Crimson Storm rank second in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 63.9 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Crimson Storm are third in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .484 (483-of-997) and allow their opponents to post a .417 mark (406-of-974) to rank first.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Crimson Storm shoot at a clip of .367 (151-of-411) to rank third in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .310 (117-of-377) to rank first. From the free throw line, the Crimson Storm shoot .704 as a team (219-of-311) to rank ninth.
 
Individually, the Crimson Storm have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Stevie Strong and his 16.4 ppg. Baron Bracey is next 13.5 ppg while Jeremy Golson rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.1 ppg.
 
Bracey is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 5.6 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Strong leads the team and is averaging 5.6 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Crimson Storm are led in steals by Strong at 1.9 steals per game and in blocks by Timur Krupalija at 0.9 blocks per game.
 
The Crimson Storm are coached by BJ Foster, who is in his second season at Southern Nazarene and his eighth overall. In his time at SNU, Foster is 32-16 and is 131-86 overall.
