TIPPING OFF
Fresh off of starting their Great American Conference schedule 2-0 this past weekend, the Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is in action on Tuesday morning for their annual Screaming Kids Game.
 
This year, the Wonder Boys will be taking on Ecclesia College from Springdale and over 1,100 or so local elementary-age kids from the River Valley are expected to be in attendance.
 
This will be third meeting all-time between Tech and Ecclessia, but this will be the first game since 2010. The Wonder Boys have won the previous two meetings.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 3-4 overall and are coming off consecutive wins over the weekend to open GAC play. Tech's first win of the weekend was a 77-58 handling of Northwestern Oklahoma on Thursday night. Their second was a solid come-from-behind 65-60 win against Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 71.9 ppg and rank 10th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank eighth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 74.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are seventh in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .457 (181-of-396). Their opponents are shooting at a .432 mark (176-of-407) to rank seventh.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .340 (54-of-159) to rank fifth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .297 (54-of-182) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .696 as a team (87-of-125) to rank seventh.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Sam Bradford and his 14.0 ppg. David Elliott IV is next in scoring and rounds out double-figure scoring at 12.6 ppg.
 
Devin Foster is leading the team in rebounding and is averaging 5.3 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Foster and Donyae May lead the team and are averaging 2.3 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Elliott IV at 1.9 steals per game and in blocks by Brian Kitenge at 0.8 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his sixth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
