TIPPING OFF
With an unblemished 4-0 record in non-conference action, the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team now turns its attention to the remainder of its 2025-26 schedule and will begin their 22-game conference slate this weekend with home games against Northwestern Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma.
 
This will be the 27th meeting all-time between Tech and Northwestern Oklahoma. The series began in 1992 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2013. The Golden Suns currently hold a 21-5 record in the series.
 
Against Southwestern Oklahoma, this will be the 46th meeting all-time between Tech and SWOSU. The series began in 1987 but has been played in earnest as conference rivals since 2012. The Golden Suns currently hold a 24-21 record in the series.
 
Tip-off for the Northwestern Oklahoma game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 4 while the Southwestern Oklahoma game will have a 1 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, December 6. Both games will take place inside Tucker Coliseum on the campus of Arkansas Tech.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are off to an early 4-0 start to their season and are coming off a hard-fought 77-75 win at home against former conference rival, Delta State back on November 25.
 
With four games to their credit, the Golden Suns average 93.0 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 67.8 ppg to rank 10th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .458 (130-of-284) to rank first in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .408 mark (93-of-228) to rank 11th.
 
From beyond the arch, the Golden Suns are shooting .350 (43-of-123) to rank sixth and are allowing their opponents to make three-pointers at a .414 clip (36-of-87) to rank 12th. At the charity stripe, the Golden Suns are shooting .767 (69-of-90) to rank seventh.
 
Individually, the Golden Suns have five players scoring in double figures. Logan Young leads the way at 13.3 ppg. Shalyn Lyle and Dessie Lancaster are next at 11.5 ppg. AbbiGrace Cunningham and Madelyn Atkins round out double-figure scoring at 10.8 and 10.0 ppg, respectively.
 
Lancaster leads the team in rebound average at 6.8 rpg. In terms of assists, Shalyn Lyle leads the team at 2.8 apg.
 
Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by Logan Young at 1.8 spg. Young also leads the team in blocks at 1.3 bpg.
 
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech, Wilbers has amassed a 367-153 overall record. Nine times, Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
 
SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma is out to a 5-1 start to their season are receiving votes in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) DII Top-25 poll. The Rangers have won each of their last three games, all at home. Over those three games, NWOSU is averaging 98.3 points per game and out-scored their opponents, 295-119.
 
Statistically, the Rangers average 79.8 ppg and rank second in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Rangers rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 49.3 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Rangers are third in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .436 (186-of-427) and are allowing their opponents a .319 mark (97-of-304) to rank second.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Rangers shoot at a clip of .326 (43-of-132) to rank eighth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .318 (47-of-148) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Rangers shoot .780 as a team (64-of-82) to rank fourth.
 
Individually, the Rangers have four players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Kira Bass and her 14.5 ppg. Jaida Shipp is next at 11.7 ppg while Summya Adigun and Conley Cayot round out double-figure scoring at 10.5 ppg each.
 
Bass is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 8.7 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Adigun leads the team and is averaging 2.3 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Rangers are led in steals by Adigun at 1.7 steals per game and in blocks by Cayot and Bass at 0.7 blocks per game.
 
The Rangers are coached by Tasha Diesselhorst, who is in her 10th season at Northwestern Oklahoma. In her time at NWOSU, Diesselhorst is 124-133.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Southwestern Oklahoma is out to a 2-3 start to their season and have lost their last two games. Both defeats have been close games with the total margin of defeat being just five points. SWOSU will have played against Harding on Thursday night prior to taking on Tech on Saturday afternoon.
 
Statistically, the Lady Bulldogs average 59.8 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Lady Bulldogs rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 59.8 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Lady Bulldogs are 10th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .383 (106-of-277) and are allowing their opponents a .343 mark (95-of-277) to rank fifth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Lady Bulldogs shoot at a clip of .242 (22-of-91) to rank 12th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .298 (36-of-121) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Lady Bulldogs shoot .619 as a team (65-of-105) to rank 12th.
 
Individually, the Lady Bulldogs have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Landry Allen and her 13.6 ppg. Sincere Jackson is next at 13.4 ppg while Elle Papahronis rounds out double-figure scoring at 12.0 ppg.
 
Papahronis is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 10.8 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Peyten Conde leads the team and is averaging 3.8 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Lady Bulldogs are led in steals by Papahronis at 3.3 steals per game and in blocks by Landry at 3.8 blocks per game.
 
The Lady Bulldogs are coached by Jeff Zinn, who is in his fourth season at Southwestern Oklahoma. In his time at SWOSU, Zinn is 41-51.
