MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team tied a season-low in field goal percentage on Thursday night on the road at Arkansas-Monticello and suffered a 61-54 setback in their final regular season game of 2025.
Despite the overall percentage, the Wonder Boys were trending towards a positive result from Thursday night's game as they overcame a modest halftime three-point deficit and held a seven-point lead on a pair of occasions in the second half.
The first of those instances came at the 13:58 mark and up to that point of the second half, it was all Wonder Boys as they had out-scored UAM 12-2. The Boll Weevils managed to get it to a two-point game by the 12:47 mark, but by the 11:49 mark, the Wonder Boys were back up by seven, 44-37.
Unfortunately, from that point on, the Wonder Boys' offense went cold while UAM methodically swung the game in their favor and eventually won by the seven-point margin.
Over that final stretch of the game, the Wonder Boys were limited to 3-of-17 from the field and 1-of-7 from three-point range. Conversely, UAM finished going 10-of-14 from the floor overall and 1-of-1 from long distance.
The leading scorer for the Wonder Boys was
David Elliott IV as he scored 20 points. Elliott IV would add a team-high 11 rebounds to post a double-double. He also had a team-high eight assists as he flirted with a triple-double.
The Wonder Boys will now enter into their Christmas break and will next be in action on Tuesday, December 30 in an exhibition game against Arkansas State. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
