The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team is set to play one more game in 2025 before the calendar flips to 2026 and it will see the Golden Suns be on the road at Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday night.

This will be the 111th meeting all-time between Tech and Arkansas-Monticello. The series began in 1977 and the two have played regularly every year since as conference rivals. Overall, Tech leads the series 79-31.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the GAC. They are coming off a tough 86-84 loss at home against Southern Arkansas this past Monday.

Statistically, the Golden Suns average 85.3 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 70.5 ppg to rank 11th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .438 (237-of-541) to rank second in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .429 mark (199-of-464) to rank 11th.

Logan Young leads the way at 12.9 ppg followed by
AbbiGrace Cunningham at 12.1 ppg.

Shalyn Lyle leads the team at 3.0 apg.

Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by
Young at 1.8 spg.
Young also leads the team in blocks at 1.1 bpg.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 369-155 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE COTTON BLOSSOMS
Arkansas-Monticello is 5-5 overall and are 0-4 in the GAC. They are coming off an 87-60 loss on the road at Ouachita Baptist last Saturday and have lost four-straight.

Statistically, the Cotton Blossoms average 61.9 ppg and rank ninth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Cotton Blossoms rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 60.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Cotton Blossoms are sixth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .417 (232-of-557) and are allowing their opponents a .385 mark (215-of-559) to rank seventh.
