TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team is set to play their first road conference game of the season on Thursday night as they will travel to Arkadelphia to take on unbeaten Henderson State.

This will be the 102nd meeting all-time between Tech and Henderson State. The series began in 1977 and the two have played regularly every year since as conference rivals. Overall, Tech leads the series 77-24.

Tip-off for is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. from the Duke Wells Center on the campus of Henderson State.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the GAC. This past weekend, the Golden Suns opened their conference schedule at home against Northwestern Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma. The Golden Suns would lose to Northwestern Oklahoma, 72-66, on Thursday but bounced back for a 71-63 win against Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday.

Statistically, the Golden Suns average 84.8 ppg to rank first in the GAC and are allowing 67.7 ppg to rank 10th. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are shooting at an overall clip of .442 (183-of-414) to rank second in the GAC and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .418 mark (142-of-340) to rank 11th.

From beyond the arch, the Golden Suns are shooting .315 (53-of-168) to rank eighth and are allowing their opponents to make three-pointers at a .384 clip (48-of-125) to rank 12th. At the charity stripe, the Golden Suns are shooting .720 (90-of-125) to rank seventh.

Individually, the Golden Suns have two players scoring in double figures.
Logan Young leads the way at 12.4 ppg followed by
Dessie Lancaster at 10.7 ppg. Three other Golden Suns are averaging at least 9.0 ppg.
AbbiGrace Cunningham is averaging 9.8 ppg,
Shalyn Lyle is at 9.5 and
Perina Leime is at 9.2 ppg.

Lancaster leads the team in rebound average at 7.5 rpg. In terms of assists,
Lyle leads the team at 3.2 apg.

Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by
Young at 2.2 spg.
Young also leads the team in blocks at 1.2 bpg.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 19th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 368-154 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State is out to a 6-0 start to their season overall and are 2-0 in the GAC. All but one of their games have come at home where the Reddies are 5-0. Last weekend, the Reddies opened GAC play with a 91-58 win against Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday and followed up with a 73-66 win against East Central on Saturday.

Statistically, the Reddies average 79.7 ppg and rank second in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Reddies rank ninth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 65.8 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Reddies are sixth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .418 (160-of-383) and are allowing their opponents a .398 mark (138-of-347) to rank ninth.

From beyond-the-arc, the Reddies shoot at a clip of .396 (53-of-134) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .337 (34-of-101) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Reddies shoot .827 as a team (105-of-127) to rank first.

Natalie Cardenas and her 19.5 ppg.
Brynlee Huggins is next at 15.7 ppg while

Fairless is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 13.7 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Sam Basson leads the team and is averaging 3.2 assists per game.

Basson at 1.8 steals per game and in blocks by
Willis at 0.3 blocks per game.

Jill Thomas, who is in her 13th season at Henderson State and her 17
th overall. In her time at Henderson,
