TIPPING OFF
Just ahead of Thanksgiving, the Arkansas Tech men's basketball team will be in action at home against Northeastern State on Wednesday afternoon.
 
This will be 47th meeting all-time between Tech and Northeastern State and the first since 2017. Tech leads the series 25-21 and have won the last four.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are off to an 0-3 start to their season and are coming off an 80-67 loss at home against No. 3-ranked Dallas Baptist this past Thursday.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 74.7 ppg and rank ninth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank 12th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 85.0 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are eighth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .451 (79-of-175). Their opponents are shooting at a .458 mark (81-of-177) to rank ninth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .305 (25-of-82) to rank seventh in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .361 (30-of-83) to rank 10th. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .707 as a team (41-of-58) to rank sixth.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Sam Bradford and his 13.3 ppg. David Elliott IV is next in scoring at 13.0 pgg while Donyae May rounds out double-figure scoring at 11.0 ppg.
 
Devin Foster and Aiden Underdown are leading the team in rebounding and are averaging 4.7 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Elliot IV, May and Reggie Reinhardt lead the team and are averaging 2.3 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Elliott IV at 3.0 steals per game and in blocks by Brian Kitenge at 1.0 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his sixth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
 
In his time at Tech, which is now in its 10th season overall, Downey has amassed a 147-114 record. Overall, Downey is in his 19th season as a head coach and has career record of 313-220.
 
SCOUTING THE RIVERHAWKS
Northeastern State is off to a 4-1 start to their season and are coming off a 102-59 win over Ecclesia College at home in their most-recent game on Monday.
 
Statistically, the RiverHawks average 89.0 ppg and rank fourth in the Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA). On the defensive end of the court, the RiverHawks rank sixth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 69.8 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the RiverHawks are third in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .498 (162-of-325) and allow their opponents to post a .407 mark (124-of-305) to rank sixth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the RiverHawks shoot at a clip of .386 (44-of-114) to rank third in the MIAA while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .253 (24-of-95) to rank third. From the free throw line, the RiverHawks shoot .688 as a team (77-of-112) to rank 12th.
 
Individually, the RiverHawks have four players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Xavier Glenn and his 18.0 ppg. Nehemiah Weber is next at 13.2 ppg followed by AJ Reed Jr. at 12.4 ppg. Taven Washington rounds out double-figure scoring at 11.0 pgg.
 
Ethan Blackmon is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Reed Jr. leads the team and is averaging 5.0 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the RiverHawks are led in steals by Reed Jr. at 2.6 steals per game and in blocks by Blackmon at 0.5 blocks per game.
 
The RiverHawks are coached by Ja Havens, who is in his sixth season at his alma mater, Northeastern State and his 13th overall. In his time as a head coach at NSU, Havens has amassed a 62-80 record and is 193-154 overall.
