TIPPING OFF
The 2025-26 season is set to tip-off for the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team on Friday afternoon at home against Texas A&M-International.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Tucker Coliseum. All fans 60 and over get in for FREE!

This will be the second meeting all-time between the Golden Suns and Dustdevils. The lone meeting prior came back in 2007. Tech won that game at home, 91-42.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns finished last season with a 7-19 record overall and a 5-17 mark in the Great American Conference and tied for 11th. This year, the Golden Suns return their top-two scorers from a year ago in
AbbiGrace Cunningham (9.7 ppg) and
Hayliegh Wyrick (9.6 ppg) and were picked to finish eighth in the preseason coaches poll.

Last year, the Golden Suns averaged 61.0 ppg and ranked 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns ranked 11th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 67.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns were 10th in the conference as they shot at an overall clip of .389 (582-of-1,498) and limited their opponents to a .390 mark (629-of-1,613) to rank fourth.

From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shot at a clip of .270 (117-of-433) to rank 12th in the GAC while their opponents made three-pointers at a mark of .320 (186-of-582) to rank fifth. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shot .672 as a team (305-of-454) to rank 11th.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who enters into his 19th and final season as Tech after he announced his retirement at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.

During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 363-153 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS
The Dustdevils finished last season with a 5-23 record overall and a 4-18 mark in the Lone Star Conference. This year, the Dustdevils have a new head coach in
Casey Fowler, who spent the previous three seasons at Lyon College in Batesville where he led the program through their transition from NAIA to NCAA DIII. With Fowler leading the team, the Dustdevils were picked to finish 14th in the preseason coaches poll and received one first-place vote.

Last year, the Dustdevils averaged 57.8 ppg and ranked 15th in the LSC. On the defensive end of the court, the Dustdevils ranked 13th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 67.9 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Dustdevils were 14th in the conference as they shot at an overall clip of .363 (580-of-1,598) and allowed their opponents a .435 mark (701-of-1,613) to rank 15th.
