TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team remains at home this coming Saturday as they are set to take on Northwestern Oklahoma.
 
This will also be 26th meeting all-time between Tech and Northwestern Oklahoma. In a series that dates back to 1971, Tech and NWOSU have played each other at least twice a year since becoming conference foes in 2012-13. Overall, Tech holds a 16-9 record in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 9-10 overall and 6-7 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a thrilling 71-68 win at home at Southwestern Oklahoma this past Thursday afternoon.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 66.8 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.4 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are 10th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .431 (454-of-1,054) and allow their opponents to shoot at a .430 mark (433-of-1,006) to rank fifth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .288 (117-of-406) to rank 11th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .343 (139-of-405) to rank seventh. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .708 as a team (245-of-346) to rank eighth.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Cassius Brooks and his 18.2 ppg. Carlos Ramsey Jr. is next and rounds out double-digit scoring at 10.1 ppg.
 
Seybian Sims is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 7.6 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Kade Shaffer leads the team and is averaging 3.7 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Brooks at 1.4 steals per game and in blocks by Sean Cobb at 0.7 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his fifth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
 
In his time at Tech, which is now in its ninth season overall, Downey has amassed a 144-104 record. Overall, Downey is in his 18th season as a head coach and has career record of 310-210.
 
SCOUTING THE RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma is 10-9 overall and 7-6 in conference play. The Rangers are coming off a 63-58 loss in their most-recent game played at Harding this past Thursday night.
 
Statistically, the Rangers average 74.7 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Rangers rank 10th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 76.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Rangers are seventh in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .443 (482-of-1,089) and allow their opponents to post a .470 mark (504-of-1,073) to rank 11th.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Rangers shoot at a clip of .333 (149-of-448) to rank sixth in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .369 (153-of-415) to rank 11th. From the free throw line, the Rangers shoot .785 as a team (307-of-391) to rank second.
 
Individually, the Rangers have two players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Camron McDowell and his 24.3 ppg. Max Alexander is next and rounds out double-figure scoring at 21.2 ppg.
 
Kabeya Tshibangu is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.9 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Alexander leads the team and is averaging 4.2 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Rangers are led in steals by Alexander at 1.8 steals per game and in blocks by Tshibangu at 1.1 blocks per game.
 
The Rangers are coached by Robbie Harman, who is in his third season at Northwestern Oklahoma. In his time at NWOSU, Harman is 38-37.
