TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team remains on the road this Thursday night as they will take on Harding for Rivalry Night in the Great American Conference.
 
This will be 156th meeting all-time between Tech and Harding. In a series that dates back to 1925, the two have played each other multiple times a year consistently as conference rivals. Overall, Tech holds a 90-65 advantage in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 7-9 overall and 4-6 in the GAC. Tech is coming off a 76-64 win on the road at Southeastern Oklahoma this past Saturday afternoon.
 
Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 67.3 ppg and rank 11th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank third in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.8 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are ninth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .432 (381-of-882) and allow their opponents to shoot at a .427 mark (369-of-864) to rank fifth.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .283 (98-of-346) to rank 11th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .339 (118-of-348) to rank seventh. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .701 as a team (216-of-308) to rank ninth.
 
Individually, the Wonder Boys have one player averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Cassius Brooks and his 17.9 ppg. Five other Wonder Boys are averaging at least 7.0 ppg
 
Seybian Sims is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, Kade Shaffer leads the team and is averaging 3.8 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by Brooks at 1.3 steals per game and in blocks by Sean Cobb at 0.8 blocks per game.
 
The Wonder Boys are coached by Mark Downey, who is in his fifth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint, Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season, Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.
 
In his time at Tech, which is now in its ninth season overall, Downey has amassed a 142-103 record. Overall, Downey is in his 18th season as a head coach and has career record of 308-209.
 
SCOUTING THE BISONS
Harding is 9-7 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The Bisons have lost their last three games. Their most-recent win was back in early January at home against Southern Nazarene, 75-55.
 
Statistically, the Bisons average 78.3 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bisons rank 10th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 78.0 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bisons are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .469 (435-of-927) and allow their opponents to post a .483 mark (452-of-936) to rank 12th.
 
From beyond-the-arc, the Bisons shoot at a clip of .379 (155-of-409) to rank second in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .356 (106-of-298) to rank eighth. From the free throw line, the Bisons shoot .806 as a team (228-of-283) to rank first.
 
Individually, the Bisons have four players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by Rylie Marshall and his 15.9 ppg. Keyln McBride is next at 14.6 ppg followed by Sam Smith at 14.4 ppg. Josh Denton rounds out double figure scoring at 10.9 ppg.
 
Smith is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.6 rebounds per game. In terms of assists, McBride leads the team and is averaging 4.3 assists per game.
 
Defensively, the Bisons are led in steals by McBride at 1.9 steals per game and in blocks by Wesley Booker at 1.3 blocks per game.
 
The Bisons are coached by Weston Jameson, who is in his second at his alma mater. In his time at Harding, Jameson is 21-24.
