TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team remains at home this Saturday and will be looking to get back in the win column and sweep the regular season series against Oklahoma Baptist.

This will be the 17th meeting all-time between Arkansas Tech and Oklahoma Baptist in a series that dates back to the 1968-69 season. Overall, Tech trails the series 6-11. Since Oklahoma Baptist became members of the GAC prior to the 2015-16 season, the Wonder Boys are 6-7 against Oklahoma Baptist.

Tip-off for Saturday afternoon's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. inside the Tucker Coliseum.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 15-6 overall this season and are 11-4 in the GAC. Most-recently, the Wonder Boys lost at home to Southern Nazarene, 67-52, this past Thursday.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 73.9 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank first in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .466 (550-of-1,181) and limit their opponents to a .430 mark (467-of-1,086) to rank first.

From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .394 (185-of-470) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .363 (147-of-405) to rank 10th. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .698 as a team (266-of-381) to rank seventh.

Individually, the Wonder Boys have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by
Taelon Peter and his 19.7 ppg.
Cassius Brooks and
Tommy Kamarad are next in scoring at 12.3 ppg each, respectively.

Josh Mitchell is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.1 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Kade Shaffer leads the team and is averaging 4.2 assists per game.

Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by
Peter at 2.1 steals per game and in blocks by
Mitchell at 1.8 blocks per game.

The Wonder Boys are coached by
Mark Downey, who is in his fourth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint,
Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season,
Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.

In his time at Tech, which is now in its eighth season overall,
Downey has amassed a 125-93 record. Overall,
Downey is in his 17th season as a head coach and has career record of 291-199.

SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is 10-11 overall this season and are 7-8 in GAC play. The Bison are coming off a 71-67 road loss at Harding this past Thursday.

Statistically, the Bison average 76.8 ppg and rank third in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank fourth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 70.2 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bison are ninth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .452 (599-of-1,325) and limit their opponents to a .434 mark (527-of-1,214) to rank third.

Wade leads the team and is averaging 4.0 assists per game.

Jason Eaker, who is in his sixth season as head coach at Oklahoma Baptist. In his time at Oklahoma Baptist,
Eaker has a 97-65 record and has won 20 or more games twice.
