TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech men's basketball team is set get their lengthy stretch of road games to end the regular season underway this Thursday night at Harding as part of "Rivalry Night" in the Great American Conference. With six total games left in the regular season, the game at Harding will be the first of five road games for Tech down the stretch.

This will be the 154th meeting all-time between Arkansas Tech and Harding in a series that dates back to the 1925-26 season. Overall, Tech leads the series, 88-64. Since the two became conference foes within the GAC prior to the 2011-12 season, the Wonder Boys are 17-10 against Harding.

Tip-off for Thursday night's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Rhodes-Reeves Fieldhouse in Searcy.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Wonder Boys are 16-6 overall this season and are 12-4 in the GAC. Most-recently, the Wonder Boys got back in the win column with a hard-fought 82-78 win at home against Oklahoma Baptist this past Saturday.

Statistically, the Wonder Boys average 74.2 ppg and rank fifth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Wonder Boys rank first in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 66.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Wonder Boys are fourth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .469 (580-of-1,237) and limit their opponents to a .434 mark (496-of-1,144) to rank second.

From beyond-the-arc, the Wonder Boys shoot at a clip of .404 (199-of-492) to rank first in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .358 (151-of-422) to rank 10th. From the free throw line, the Wonder Boys shoot .694 as a team (274-of-395) to rank seventh.

Individually, the Wonder Boys have three players averaging double figures in scoring and are led by
Taelon Peter and his 20.1 ppg.
Cassius Brooks and
Tommy Kamarad are next in scoring at 12.3 ppg and 12.1 ppg, respectively.

Josh Mitchell is the team-leader in rebounding and is averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Kade Shaffer leads the team and is averaging 4.6 assists per game.

Defensively, the Wonder Boys are led in steals by
Peter at 2.0 steals per game and in blocks by
Mitchell at 1.8 blocks per game.

The Wonder Boys are coached by
Mark Downey, who is in his fourth season back on the sidelines at Tech after a 10-year hiatus. In his first stint,
Downey patrolled the sidelines at Tech for four seasons from 2006-07 - 2009-10. In his final season,
Downey guided the Wonder Boys to a program-record 30 wins and during that season, the Wonder Boys were ranked No. 1 in NCAA DII for the first time ever.

In his time at Tech, which is now in its eighth season overall,
Downey has amassed a 126-93 record. Overall,
Downey is in his 17th season as a head coach and has career record of 292-199.

SCOUTING THE BISONS
Harding is 11-11 overall this season and are 8-8 in GAC play. The Bisons have won two-straight games and are coming off an 88-58 thumping of Southern Nazarene at home this past Saturday.

Statistically, the Bisons average 75.8 ppg and rank fourth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bisons rank 11th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 78.1 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bisons are sixth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .461 (577-of-1,252) and limit their opponents to a .471 mark (638-of-1,356) to rank 11th.

McBride leads the team and is averaging 3.9 assists per game.
