TIPPING OFF
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball is set to play its first conference game of the year at home and will do so this Thursday night against Henderson State.

This will be the 100th meeting all-time between Tech and Henderson State. In a series that dates back to 1977, the Golden Suns and Reddies have played one another at least twice in a season throughout the series as conference rivals. The Golden Suns currently hold a 76-23 record in the series.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 3-3 overall and 1-1 in GAC play after they split their opening weekend of conference games on the road. They are coming off a 75-70 win in their most-recent game at Southwestern Oklahoma this past Saturday.

This season, the Golden Suns average 71.3 ppg and rank third in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank 12th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 68.7 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are fifth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .415 (163-of-393) and are allowing their opponents to shoot at a .355 mark (144-of-406) to rank third.

From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shoot at a clip of .254 (29-of-114) to rank 12th in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .293 (41-of-140) to rank fifth. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shoot .593 as a team (73-of-123) to rank 12th.

Individually, the Golden Suns have three players averaging double figures and are led by
Hayleigh Wyrick at 11.3 ppg.
Julie Wagner is not far off at 11.3 ppg while
Olivia Jones rounds out double-figures at 10.8 ppg. Two other players are averaging over 7.0 ppg as well.

Dave Wilbers, who is in his 18th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 359-136 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State is 2-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play after they lost both games of their opening weekend of conference action. Overall, the Reddies have lost three-straight games.

Statistically, the Reddies average 58.5 ppg and rank 12th in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Reddies rank 11th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 67.8 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Reddies are 12th in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .335 (166-of-496) and are allowing their opponents a .388 mark (183-of-472) to rank eighth.
