TIPPING OFF
For the first time this season, the Arkansas Tech women's basketball team will be making their way to the State of Oklahoma for Great American Conference games. Their first stop in the Sooner State will see Tech travel to Shawnee to take on Oklahoma Baptist.

This will be the 19th meeting all-time between Arkansas Tech and Oklahoma Baptist in a series that dates back to 1984. Overall, Tech holds a 13-5 lead in the series. Since the two became members of the GAC prior to the 2015-16 season, the Golden Suns are 12-3 against Oklahoma Baptist.

As conference foes, the two teams met twice last season in the regular season with Tech winning both matchups, 75-50, at home and 67-52 on the road. They would also meet in the opening round of the GAC Tournament in the No. 4 vs. No. 5 game. Oklahoma Baptist, as the No. 5-seed, emerged victorious, 73-67.

Tip-off for Thursday evening's game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Noble Complex.

TECH(NICALLY) SPEAKING
The Golden Suns are 7-3 overall on the season and are 4-2 in the GAC. Winners of three-straight, Tech is coming off a 2-0 week in their first action back from Christmas break. Last week's success saw the Golden Suns pick up impressive home wins over East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma.

At this point of the season, the Golden Suns average 75.2 ppg and rank third in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Golden Suns rank ninth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 64.6 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Golden Suns are third in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .442 (274-of-620) and are limiting their opponents to a .353 mark (211-of-597) to rank third.

From beyond-the-arc, the Golden Suns shoot at a clip of .307 (46-of-150) to rank seventh in the GAC while their opponents make three-pointers at a mark of .300 (72-of-240) to rank sixth. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns shoot .705 as a team (158-of-224) to rank ninth.

Individually, the Golden Suns have three players averaging double figures and three more that are at least at 7.0 ppg.
Pacious McDaniel currently leads the team in scoring at 21.8 ppg. Behind
McDaniel in scoring is
Alex Hill at 14.7 ppg.
Dana Thompson is next and rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.4 ppg.
Maisa Marcal,
Julie Wagner and
Hayleigh Wyrick are all averaging at least 7.0 ppg at 8.5, 7.8 and 7.6 ppg, respectively.

Thompson leads the team in rebounding and is averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. In terms of assists,
Hill lead the team and are averaging 3.1 assists per game each.

Defensively, the Golden Suns are led in steals by
Hill at 2.1 steals per game and in blocks by
Thompson at 1.2 blocks per game.

The Golden Suns are coached by
Dave Wilbers, who is in his 17th season as Tech. During his time at Tech,
Wilbers has amassed a 349-124 overall record. Nine times,
Wilbers has won 20 or more games at Tech and twice has won 30 or more. In terms of national rankings, a
Wilbers-led team has been nationally-ranked at any point in a season 10 times. Among those, he has guided the Golden Suns to the top of the rankings on a pair of occasions during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is 5-7 overall this season and are 2-4 in the GAC thus far. The Bison have lost each of their last two games after falling on the road last week to Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State.

Statistically, the Bison average 61.4 ppg and rank ninth in the GAC. On the defensive end of the court, the Bison rank eighth in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 64.3 ppg. In terms of field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense, the Bison are eighth in the conference as they shoot at an overall clip of .392 (259-of-661) and limit their opponents to a .411 mark (272-of-661) to rank 10th.

Jaedyn Getman and her 18.0 ppg.
Parker Stevenson is next at 9.8 ppg while

Chambers leads the team and is averaging 3.2 assists per game.
